Dotty Colourwork Socks
These socks require intermediate knitting skills
They are worked in the round on double-pointed needles from the cuff down with a heel flap construction. Simple stranded colourwork in striped bands is featured on the leg and toe. The toe is closed using Kitchener stitch (grafting).
There are 3 sizes: Small (Medium, Large)
Leg length from ankle approx 18cm or 7ins;
Foot length approx 21 (23, 25) cm or 8¼ (9, 9¾) ins
Yarn Requirements:
Patons Patonyle Merino 4 ply 50g:
1 ball of Sand (1003) for Colour 1 (C1) and 1 ball of Dark Grey (1005) for Colour 2 (C2)
and Malabrigo Sock 100g:
1 skein of Ravelry Red (611) for Colour 3 (C3)
A pair of socks uses approx 115-135 metres (126-148 yards) of C1,
145-180 metres (159-197 yards) of C2
100-115 metres (109-126 yards) of C3,
in Fingering weight or 4 ply yarn.
Needles and Extras
- one set each 2.25mm (US 1) and 2.75mm (US 2) double-pointed knitting needles
- yarn needle and stitch-markers (as desired)
