Leaflet - Debra Kinsey Knits - Piano Scarf Pattern
Piano Scarf Pattern
This scarf requires intermediate knitting skills
Piano Scarf Pattern is worked sideways in one piece. The piano keys section is worked first, using stranded colourwork. A garter ridge forms a fold line and the back of the scarf is worked in stocking stitch to the width of the piano keys section.
To finish this scarf off and fully enclose the back of the colourwork section, the scarf ends are joined using mattress stitch, then the back section is joined to the piano keys section using one of two methods.
You can simply cast off stitches and slip stitch the edges together or you can work the stocking stitch together with the cast-on edge and simultaneously cast off for a really neat finish
